Elizabeth Carroll

Casa Program Directress

Elizabeth Carroll has a PhD in French and Francophone World Studies from the University of Iowa. Her Montessori journey began as a parent at MSM when Elizabeth was asked by Aurora to give French lessons to the children. After seeing Montessori in action, she decided to pursue a career as a Montessori teacher.

Throughout her time at MSM, Elizabeth has worked in both the Casa and Nido programs. She loves seeing the continuity of the Montessori philosophy as it is applied to infants, toddlers, and young children.

In 2021, Elizabeth received her AMS and MACTE certified diploma for Montessori at the primary level (3-6) from the Montessori Teacher Education Program at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. Through the same program she also received a Master's in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Montessori.

Previously, Elizabeth had also completed an Infant and Toddler Certification course through CGMS, a MACTE accredited organization.

The 2022-2023 school year brought about new changes as Elizabeth and Aurora switched roles in the Casa classroom; Elizabeth began serving as the lead directress with Aurora assisting. This has allowed Elizabeth to further exercise all she learned in her training as she grows and develops in her capacity as a Montessori directress.

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her family has two cats and a growing aquarium.
